Fiji needs to improve some areas of their game: Forbes

Former New Zealand 7s Captain DJ Forbes says Fiji need to improve some area of their game plan if they are to beat table leader USA.

With only two tournaments left in the World Sevens Series, Forbes says the rivalry for the top four spots will get even harder as all teams wants to qualify for next year’s Tokyo Olympic.

“Base on what I saw last time, Fiji will need a few things to go their way in order for America to trip up but yeah, it’s going to make for an exciting finish to the World Series and whoever ends up in the top four is probably going to off-season a little bit more easier knowing that they have qualified.”

Fiji Airways 7s Coach Gareth Baber says they aim to finish at the top of the table standing at the end of the London and Paris 7s.

Baber is also expected to name his squad for the London 7s next week.

Meanwhile, Fiji is pooled with Samoa, France, and Kenya.

Fiji plays Kenya in its first pool match, they will then take on France, before meeting Samoa in its last pool campaign.
