The Vodafone Fiji football side has bowed out of the FIFA Under 20 World Cup.

This as the side lost its last group match by three goals to nil against Uzbekistan.

Fiji defended for most of the first spell as Saula Waqa missed a one on one opportunity striking his shot wide from inside the penalty box.

The scores were level at halftime but Uzbekistan opened the deadlock scoring two goals in a span of 2 minutes.

Fijian stopper failed to grab the ball as he juggled the ball into his own net for the first goal while a well time through ball created the second goal just minutes later.

Uzbekistan scored their third goal in the dying stages of the match.

Germany topped the pool with 9 points while Fiji, Honduras and Uzbekistan all finished on 3 points.

Uzbekistan qualifies as runners up from the pool with a better goal difference.
The Fijians performed way above expectations at the tournament upsetting Honduras 3-0 in a historic win.

The side had earlier gone down 8-1 to Germany in the first encounter.
The team returns tomorrow.
