Fiji FA hopes for two Fijian teams next year

The Fiji Football Association is excited about the possibility of having two Fijians teams feature in the 2016 Fiji Airways OFC Champions League.

This will only happen if Vodafone Ba is able to make the semi-finals following the completion of pool games tomorrow.

The countries, whose teams make the semi-finals of the competition this year, will have two teams each for the 2016 edition.

Fiji FA president, Rajesh Patel, says it is exciting times for the sport in the country.

“As we have said the two teams that have qualified and one is still in the running for it and that is very positive. And with the format that we have got if Ba does make it to the semi-finals then we will have two teams from Fiji next year and this is very positive for us.”

Meanwhile, today at the ANZ Stadium in Suva, AS Tefana plays Hekari United at 4.30pm, while Tafea FC battles Team Wellington at 7pm.

Tomorrow, Ba takes on AS Pirae at 7pm at home at Govind Park while at 4.30pm Lupe Ole Soaga takes on FC Gaitcha.
