Fiji ends on a high note

Our young Fiji athletes ended their game on a high note yesterday afternoon at the Oceania Regionals Championships in Cairns Australia.

Fiji managed to scoop gold in the womens open 4×400m relay .

St Bedes sprinter Beniamino Maravu added his second gold after running in the mens U20 200m while other silver medal prospects are Elenoa Sailosi in the the U20 womens 200m, Emosi Bure in the Open mens 800m and Zubair dean u20 8oom silver 2:06s.

After three days of tough competition Fiji bagged a total of 9 golds 7 silver 1 bronze

The team is expected to arrive into the country early Sunday morning.

Meanwhile Athletics Fiji has confirmed Danielle Alakija as our female athlete to the London Olympics 2012.

She will be accompanying Javelin thrower Leslie Copeland.
