Fiji Drua hopes to create history tomorrow

October 26, 2018 12:06 am

In the history of Australia’s National Rugby Championship, Fiji Airways Drua was the first outside team which was invited to join the competition last year and has progressed on to playing the final just in its second season.

NRC was introduced in Australia in 2014 as another tier of competition under Super Rugby in line with South Africa’s Currie Cup and New Zealand’s Mitre 10 Cup.

Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula says reaching the final itself is a great achievement but they want to create a history when they face Queensland Country tomorrow.

“I think we just need to believe in ourselves and prepare well for this week and everything else will take care of itself tomorrow and we have to have the confidence and go out and win the final.”

The Fijian Drua plays the Queensland Country at 3.30pm at Lautoka’s Churchill Park tomorrow.
