The Fiji men’s cricket side is sitting on fourth place after day two of the International Cricket Council (ICC) East-Asia Pacific Men’s Trophy in Australia.
The national side was bowled out by Vanuatu yesterday for 93 runs in 18.3 overs.
Stand-in captain Maciu Gauna won the toss and opted to field.
Vanuatu amassed 128 runs off 28 balls with 1 wicket in hand.
Fiji openers Rabici Lesuma and Makutu Seru fell cheaply, but Sekove Ravoka and Giles Smith built a partnership and Fiji looked to be still in the hunt.
Gauna, was trapped LBW for 2 and it seemed that both wickets in hand and overs were running out for Fiji.
In the end, Fiji was bowled out for 93 in 18.3 overs, handing Vanuatu a 35 run win.
The national team will take a break today and will face Samoa and Cook Islands tomorrow.
