Fiji cricket team loses in Australia

The Fiji men’s cricket side has lost by four wickets to the Wanderers club in Australia.

This was the first game of their training camp ahead of the International Cricket Council’s East-Asia Pacific regional Twenty20 World Cup and 50-over World Cricket League Qualifiers in Lismore next week.

Fiji won the toss and elected to bat and was dismissed for 228 runs with Maciu Gauna top-scoring with 63 runs.

In reply, the Wanderers reached their winning total of 6-229 in the 43rd over.

Best with the ball for Fiji was Imran Khan, with 3-42 off his ten overs.

Fiji will play their next match this afternoon, in a Twenty20 fixture against the Churchie School first XI.
