Fiji has won their first pool match at the Tokyo 7s, beating France 17-0 this afternoon.
France managed to hold Alivereti Dere’s men down for most of the half before Waisea Nayacalevu scored his first of two tries just before the breather.
The second spell saw a much more composed Fiji outfit dominate the French before their third try came after a hard run from Nemani Nagusa.
For an easy two points, Nagusa handed the ball to Ilai Tinani to dot down between the posts to seal the win for the Hong Kong 7s champions.
Fiji’s next game is against Japan at 6.47pm and they will meet England at 10.09pm in their final pool match.
