The Fiji Chess Federation set a target of developing a new generation of national players within the next five years.

Federation Secretary Goru Arvind says there is a need to develop the youngsters for international tournaments.

“We are surely going to develop the younger players because our main aim is to have newer national players in the next 5 years or so. There is a lot of junior development and training sessions planned ahead so it’s very worthwhile if you come out and participate in this sport.”
