January 15, 2021 4:06 pm

There are more events planned for the year after a successful 2020 Fiji National Chess Championship.
The championship which ended on Wednesday attracted 26 players who played nine rounds over five days.
Some matches in the championship lasted more than three hours.
Fiji Chess Federation President Hilda Vukikomoala says none of the players lost a point in the championship which showed how tough the competition was.
Vukikomoala says this year they may take some tournaments to other parts of the country.
“For Fiji Chess Federation we have an upcoming tournament in the west and we look forward to hosting many tournaments Fiji wide, hopefully this year we’ll host one tournament in the north”.
Vukikomoala is also urging Fijians to come and tryout chess when they have another competition.
