The Vodafone Fiji Bati side will host the Australian Prime Ministers XIII side in a one-off test in Suva in October.
The Australian Prime Ministers side is the second string Australian Kangaroos team and will feature renowned players in the National Rugby League competition.
Fiji National Rugby League Acting General Secretary Ilaitia Naqau says the match will boost the profile of the sport in the country.
“This team consists of NRL players that are playing in the clubs that could not get into the finals. So they form a team and they normally play Papua New Guinea since 2005. So they will play Papua New Guinea and then come over to play the Fiji team.”
The Fiji Bati-Australian Prime Ministers XIII clash will be held at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on October 2nd.
The Fiji Bati side will then take on Samoa in the Pacific Test at the same venue on October 17th, with the winner to feature in the Four Nations tournament against Australia, New Zealand and England next year.
