Fiji backline the strongest: McKee

November 12, 2014 11:41 pm

Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee is counting on his players to put in a much-improved performance than the one that resulted in the 40-15 loss to France last weekend.

The Kiwi mentor has retained the same forward park; making five changes to a reshuffled back-line.

Blockbusting centre Nemani Nadolo will team-up with Vereniki Goneva in the midfield for the first time with Ospreys centre John Matavesi at flyhalf.

“It’s a much stronger backline than last week and I think we have better players than last week. Talking to the senior players; Cardiff is one of the iconic players to play rugby and the boys are really looking forward to sucking up the experience and using that as a motivation as well.”

The Flying Fijians test against Wales this weekend also marks the 50th anniversaryy of the first encounter between the two sides at Cardiff Arms Park in 1964.

The Dragons will host the Vodafone Flying Fijians at 3:30am on Sunday.
