Fiji athletes get medals after drug tests

Due to positive doping cases during the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia last year, three Fiji athletes have now been awarded medals.

In powerlifting, Elesi Ikanidrodro has been awarded the gold in the 84kg women’s division.

Ana Garnett has been given the bronze medal in the same category.

Ian Muller has now been awarded the silver medal in surfing’s open long board grade.

The Pacific Games Council awarded a total of eight gold medals, six silvers and six bronze as a result of athletes found guilty of breaching the anti doping code.

All athletes found guilty have been banned for up to two years.
