Fiji all set for Scotland 7s

The Scotland Sevens gets underway tonight with the Vodafone Fiji team very much involved in a personal battle.

The side wants a top three finish and is eyeing the Glasgow and the London crown next week to finish off the season on a high.

On the other hand, New Zealand, which currently lead the series by seven points from South Africa and, fascinatingly, the two sides play each other in pool play tomorrow.

If the New Zealanders reach the last two cup finals of the season they are guaranteed a 12th World Series title.

If they do not, however, and South Africa performs heroics in Scotland and England, the Springbok Sevens could win a second series title.

New Zealand has 136 points, South Africa 129 and Fiji has 112 and England is on 104.

Fiji plays Argentina at 9.30pm today in its first pool match, before meeting Kenya at 12.36am tomorrow.

The last pool match is against Wales at 3.47am.
