Fiji 7s to meet France in the cup quarter final

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has advanced to the cup quarter finals of the Dubai 7s and will meet France after defeating Argentina in its last pool match 22-19 earlier this morning.

The two sides were tied at 12 all at halftime.

Fiji’s tries came from Kitione Taliga and Captain Osea Kolinisau in the first half while Setareki Bituniyata and Joeli Lutumailagi scored a try each in the second half of the game.

Fiji topped Pool A with Wales also going through to the cup quarter finals as runners up.

Fiji remained undefeated throughout its game after beating Canada 26-19 in its first pool match and also defeated Wales 24-12 in its second pool match.

Fiji will play against France at 8 tonight.

In other quarters, England will take on Scotland, New Zealand will face South Africa while Australia will take on Wales.

The Cup semi final starts at 1.41am tomorrow while the Gold Medal match starts at 4.33am tomorrow.
