More information have emerged regarding the allowances paid to gold medal winning 7s players after their contracts expired in August.
FBC Sports understands players get just fifty dollars a day while in camp preparing for the Sevens World Series.
The final 14 which are selected to be part of the tour overseas are then given One Hundred dollars a day.
Under former coach Ben Ryan, more than 15 players were contracted and given a salary between 15 to 20 thousand dollars.
On top this if Fiji won a tournament, players got bonuses from sponsors.
It’s also understood that Fiji 7s manager Ropate Kauvesi who’s been in the circle for the past three years is also being given allowances with no proper salary.
This all began surfacing following Ben Ryan’s tweet on Monday, calling on the FRU to start contracting players.
