The Fiji squad to the Oceania 7’s in Australia this weekend will have more than just the regional title to play for.
The squad is made is up of players that were dropped from the Gold Coast 7’s team.
National coach Ben Ryan says this weekend’s tournament will be a chance for redemption for later in the series.
“They have missed out on Gold Coast 7’s selection and they hopefully will prove me wrong at the weekend and have some standout performances. I’m pretty convinced having seen how they are going in training that they will play well, and one or two players at least will really push hard for consideration for Dubai 7s. So it’s good to have competition. "
The Fiji squad to the Oceania 7’s will be led by Nasoni Roko.
The team departs for Australia on Wednesday morning with the tournament to kick-off on Friday.
Meanwhile, Coca Cola Amatil Fiji today became the official beverage and refreshment provider for the Fiji Rugby Union for the next five years.
