Fiji 7's makes a winning start

The Fiji Airways national 7s team has secured its first win at the Cape Town 7’s after defeating Wales 28-14 in its first pool match.

Kalione Nasoko scored the first try to start Fiji’s winning campaign.

Eroni Sau scored two tries while Jasa Veremalua scored the last try for Fiji.

All tries were converted taking Fiji to lead 28-nil at half time.

Wales came back fighting in the second half to score two tries by Luke Treharne and Morgan Williams.

However this wasn’t enough to overcome the Fijians as they trailed at 14 points.

Fiji will meet Canada next at 12:58am tomorrow morning before taking on Samoa at 4.19am.
