Fiji 7s hopes to play its fourth final in Vegas

The Fiji Airways men’s rugby 7s side hopes to play its fourth consecutive final in Las Vegas tournament next weekend.

Fiji has featured in all Las Vegas finals since 2015, having won twice and losing out to South Africa by 19-12 last year.

Coach Gareth Baber says the team needs to do all the tactics right against their opponents in the three day tournament.

“We have looked in training the different mechanism which can test the opposition in terms of winning the possession, line out being one of those but the huge influence kick off plays in the game generally is being more focused to us.”

The Fiji 7s team leaves for Las Vegas tonight.

The side begins its campaign against Russia at 12.06pm next Saturday.

They then play France at 3.07pm and faces Kenya in their last pool match at 8.36am next Sunday.

The quarterfinal kicks off on 1.26pm next Sunday, while the semi-final begins at 9.12am on Monday the 5th of March and the final is secluded for 12.30pm.
