Fiji 7s faces easy path for Olympics

April 7, 2015 5:38 pm

The Vodafone Fiji 7s side will only need to reach the Cup quarter-finals of the Glasgow 7s to secure automatic qualification to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Coach Ben Ryan says Fiji is now in the tight-race for the World Sevens Series crown against South Africa and New Zealand but to make the cut for the Olympic Games will be remarkable goal.

“It’s a three-horse race now, we know a quarterfinal in Glasgow will guarantee Olympic entry which is hugely significant and was our number one priority this year. It looks like we should get there one tournament early which is a fantastic achievement.”
