Vodafone Fiji rugby sevens coach Ben Ryan has confirmed he has offered Donasio Ratubuli a contract to stay with the national team.

Ratubuli has been offered a contract to play club rugby in France, but it is understood he is yet to decide on his future.

Ryan has already lost his regulars from last season of Samisoni Viriviri and Benito Masilevu, and remains adamant he wants Ratubuli to stay.

“I have offered Donasio (Ratubuli) a full time contract for Fiji sevens. He is currently in Sir Lanka and I think in the contractual point of view, he may well have two contracts now, a French one and a Fijian one. I would like to see Donasio remain and carry on from his outstanding play from last year and I am sure I can get a lot more out of him if he is here fulltime. So my fingers are crossed that he comes back from Sri Lanka and I will have conversations with him in the next few days.”

Ryan will be naming his training squad at the end of the month before the first tournament takes place in October.

This will be the Gold Coast tournament in Australia on October 11-12.
