FASANOC President Joe Rodan senior and Chief Executive Lorraine Mar made a submission to the standing committee on public accounts in regards to the 2016 annual report yesterday.
Upon delivering the feedback to certain members of parliaments present during the submission, Rodan proposed their interest in recruiting full-time staffs to various sporting bodies.
He says having more full-time staff will help improve the standard of every sport in the country.
“We need full-time bodies but if we need full-time staffs we need funding, so we have applied to the government to have full-time employment for various organizations but was rejected and a lot of the staffs at the moment are volunteers, who have other work to do, so if the government can approve on our request, I believe we can improve the sporting bodies and sports as a whole in Fiji.”
Meanwhile, FASANOC is working on assisting 98 athletes that will represent Fiji to the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia to come April.
