Fall wins first Gold for Fiji

Mustafa Fall has won Fiji’s first gold medal in the Melanesian Games held at the ANZ Stadium.

Fall threw a distance of 50.28 meters in the senior men’s Discus to win gold while Setareki Matau also of Fiji won bronze.

Meanwhile, South Pacific sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro will ran in the mens Senior 100 meters heats later in the evening.

The Melanesia Games is the final Olympic qualification tournament in the region and athletes from Australia, New Zealand and Oceania are also competing at the event.

The games will end this Saturday.
