FACT battle heats up

June 19, 2014 12:16 am

The Vodafone Fiji FACT starts tomorrow in Nausori and the question is how the eight teams will adapt to the first football tournament of the year.

FBC commentator Raymond Stoddart says all teams will be looking at making a mark from the first match.

However, he adds the pools games will lay the platform for the sides to adapt to the 90-minute tournament.

“When you look at it it’s the first round that is critical with three games and the semi-final and final is the following weekend. I think the teams that have been playing the Champions League like Ba and they have two games in the league will start as top. Looking at it overall in the tournament proper itself, I feel the three games this first weekend will be of great help leading into the knock-out stages.”

Meanwhile, Navua and Nadi get the tournament underway at 1pm at Ratu Cakobau Park.

You can catch the live commentaries of the Ba-Nadroga game at 3pm, Suva-Lautoka clash at 5.30pm and the Rewa- Labasa match at 7.30pm on Radio Fiji 2 with the voice of soccer Raymond Stoddart.
