The Fiji Amateur Boxing Association is hopeful of getting some certified coaches at the end of the week long International Boxing Association Star One Course.
The program which is underway in Suva will help coaches understand the rules that is governed by AIBA.
FABA President Manasa Baravilala says it is about time our coaches get to know the latest rules of the sport.
“Our accreditation is a key. One of our main objectives is to get our coaches and referring judges accredited so that they understand the new rules that govern boxing and also that they will be able to teach. When they are teaching students, they are applying the correct rules, not something that they have learnt 20-30 years ago as boxers.”
The program finishes tomorrow.
