FASANOC is hoping that the government ensures that the National Stadium is accessible to all sports.

FASANOC president Vidya Lakhan says there is fear among the sporting community that the new facilities would mean exorbitant charges for its use.

Lakhan says there is no use of making such facilities if it cannot be used by everyone.

“The important question is who we are building the facilities for. Are we making it accessible to them or are we are profit oriented organisation and our only interest is the bottom line. I would like to think that we would like to see all our sporting facilities used on a daily basis.”

Government has given Fiji Sports Council a further $4.2 million for the National Stadium in the 2013 budget with the hopes to hold international matches at the venue.
