England confident of a good start in the Colorado 7s

The England 7s rugby team is confident of making a better start in the World Rugby women’s series which kicks off in Colorado, USA on Sunday.

Coach James Bailey says they have a mixture of young and experienced players and have been working hard during the pre-season.

“We have started with our projects again and we have got some really young talents coming into the squad in addition to a number of girls that helped us actually achieve bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games last year. So the blend is really nice and we have had an early start to the season and we looking forward to some exciting things.”

England faces World Champions New Zealand, China and USA in its pool.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways women’s 7s side is grouped with Canada, France and Ireland.

The tournament kicks off on Sunday.
