Drua to maintain discipline

October 30, 2017 6:06 pm

The Fiji Airways Drua side need to maintain discipline if they want to beat Queensland Country in the semi-final of the National Rugby Championship.

The Drua conceded 15 penalties against Sydney Ray last weekend while they conceded 18 penalties against Queensland Country a week earlier.

They lost two players to the sin bin against Country, and another against the Rays.

Meanwhile, Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula says, the team can win the semi-final.

“The main aim now is to win the semi-final. That is our focus. We will go out and do the process first. The boys just have to believe and have confidence.”

The Drua play Queensland at 5pm on Sunday in Australia.
In the first semi-final, Canberra Vikings host Perth Spirit at 8pm on Saturday.

Drua to maintain discipline

September 14, 2017 3:57 am

The Fiji Airways Drua side needs to maintain discipline if they want to continue with their winning run in the National Rugby Championship.

Coach Senirusi Seruvakula says, the two sin bins in the first match cost his team the game and they do not want to repeat that.

“In this competition, you need 15 players for the full 80 minutes. As we saw in our first game, as soon as one of our players was sin binned, they scored tries and that’s the message to the boys every week that we need to be disciplined in our defense and attack.”

Vasikali Mudu and Kalivate Tawake were sin binned in the Drua’s 45-36 loss to Brisbane City in round one.

The Drua players came back strongly last week and maintained good discipline which saw them beat Melbourne Rising 45-24.

The Drua takes on New South Wales Country Eagles at 3pm at Lawaqa Park this Saturday and you can catch a live commentary of the match on Radio Fiji One.
