Drua needs to win to confirm semi-final spot

October 23, 2017 12:15 am

The Fiji Airways Drua side needs to beat Sydney Rays this week if they are to confirm their spot in the semi-finals of the National Rugby Championship.

The Fijian Drua is on third spot on the standings with 21 points, three ahead of fourth and fifth placed New South Wales Country Eagles and Brisbane City respectively.

The Fijians need to win and hope second placed Canberra Vikings lose its last match, to have any chances of hosting a semi-final in Fiji.

Meanwhile, winger Eroni Sau says, the team will go back to the drawing boards and bounce back from its 24-17 loss to Queensland Country last Saturday.

“The team knows the areas where we have lacked. We will go back to camp and review the game against Queensland Country. We will work on the weaknesses and look forward to the game against Sydney Rays.”

The Drua takes on Sydney Rays, 6pm on Saturday at ANZ Stadium in Suva and you can catch the live commentary of the match on Radio Fiji One.
