Another major international golf tournament could be headed our way in the near future.
Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou, says talks are underway with organizers from an Asian country to host a tournament, which would follow in the footsteps of the inaugural Fiji International at Natadola last year.
“The Korean PGA has staked interest to avoid the Korean winter; they have recommended Fiji golf courses. Consultations have been ongoing and they have visited three golf courses in Fiji. Negotiations and consultations are underway with the Fiji Ambassador in Korea for a confirmation.”
Meanwhile, the second Fiji International tournament will be held at the pristine Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course in Sigatoka on the 15th to the 18th of October.
