Nadroga based Davetalevu sevens team successfully retained the Borneo International Sevens in Malaysia yesterday.

Davetalevu becomes the second Fijian team to have success in an international sevens tournament over the weekend.

Davetalevu beat Borneo Eagles 35-14 in the finals.

Administrator Tiko Matawalu says the Fiji reps in the side helped the team win.

“This is the second time in a row for us and we beat Borneo Eagles in the final. The boys played well in the tournament. We had the services of the current sevens reps like Ulaiasi Lawavou,Samisoni Viriviri and Apisai Domolailai. They really made the difference.”

This weekend the team will focus on the Singapore 7s tournament.
