Davetalevu has started its title defense of the Central Coast 7s tournament in Australia with a 31-14 win over Tiger Rugby.

The defending champions got off to a slow start and the scoreboard read 14-7 at halftime.

Davetalevu flexed its muscle in the second spell, led by national reps, Savenaca Rawaca and Jerry Tuwai to overpower their opponents, which featured USA national reps.

In other games, New Zealand Development, featuring Kiwi reps, DJ Forbes and Scott Curry beat Yamacia 17-0, Red Rock succumbed to Aussie Thunderbolts 36-12 and Tabadamu thumped Manly 39-0.

In the women’s division, the Telecom Fijiana side will take on Stars Rugby at 1:20pm and the Nadi Blazers clash with Hunter 7s at the same time.
