Cricket Fiji starts build-up

Cricket Fiji is hoping to start its Twenty-Twenty competition from tomorrow which will double up as its build up for the qualifiers in New Zealand.

National coach Joeli Mateyawa says Fiji has a chance to rub shoulders with the world’s best if they manage to win the qualifiers in New Zealand.

The qualifiers provide the path to the 2014 Twenty-Twenty World Cup in Dubai.

Mateyawa adds Fiji is new to the shortened code but with weekly competition there is hope that the national players will pick up.

Cricket Fiji is hoping that good weather will also persist.
