The Escott Shield quarter-finals got off to a surprising start with Army losing to the Covenant Brothers 21-18 at Albert Park.
A 60-meter penalty goal from Covenant Brothers fullback, Ben Soso proved the decider as well as the nail in the coffin for Army.
Winning captain, Akuila Cakacaka says this is the first time the club has made it to the quarters and now progressing to the semis is a bonus.
He puts the win down to better executing their set-pieces.
Covenant Brothers will meet Police who defeated Lomaiviti 20-17 in the second quarter-final.
Next up is the match between Escott Shield holders, Navy going up against the National Fire Authority while the feature match will be between Nabua and Raiwaqa.
