It’s a do-or-die situation for Fijiana this weekend when they battle to qualify from the Oceania Women’s Championship in Lautoka.
The 15-member team left for the west this afternoon and skipper, Mereoni Yabakidrau is hoping for the best when playing at home.
The Solomon Islands and Tonga are the first overseas teams to arrive on Tuesday.
Australia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, New Zealand and the Cook Islands women’s sevens rugby teams will arrive on Wednesday.
Fiji’s first match is against the Cook Islands on Friday followed by Tonga then hot favourites, New Zealand.
The tournament will be held over two days at Churchill Park.
Besides Australia and New Zealand, Fiji must finish ahead of the remaining six teams to make the second qualifiers in India in October.
