Coral Coast 7s expected to be thriller

November 2, 2014 5:46 pm

Organizers of the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s tournament are anticipating another tough encounter when teams converge at Lawaqa Park in two weeks time.

Tournament official Nick Jordan says following the level of competition witnessed at the Coral Great Eight tournament that was held over the weekend, the Bayleys Coral Coast promises to be an even bigger rugby show especially with the calibre of teams that will compete.

“We just hope that it is another step-up in the next couple of weeks. We’re adding a couple of teams from overseas like Waisale Serevi’s team, Rangatoa from New Zealand and Daveta from the Fitness First Central Coast 7s, Lauli’i Lions from our partner tournament in Samoa. So our men’s competition will be very strong and the women’s will be equally strong, with the Aussie Pearls, USA national team and of course the Telecom Fijiana. I think the winner will come out of one of these three teams but we’re really looking forward to seeing them all play.”
