To participate in an Olympic Games is the ultimate dream of all athletes.

Pacific Games javelin throwing champion, Leslie Copeland is lining up several competitions next year to assist his bid to qualify for a second Olympic Games in 2016.

“I’m hoping to go abroad next year maybe in February, just in time for competitions overseas. I’m concentrating on training here in Fiji for now and get my body to a good standard before I depart Fiji when I can.”

Copeland’s first experience in an Olympic Games was in London in 2012.

The 26 year old was one of six athletes to receive an Olympic Scholarship from FASANOC earlier this week to fund their training in order to qualify for the Rio Games in 2016.
