Clubs the let down: Male

Flying Fijians coach Inoke Male has laid some of the blame from his side’s record 54-12 loss to England on European clubs.

According to AAP Male accused European clubs of weakening his side by making them unavailable for national duties.

Allegations have been made that European clubs were, contrary to IRB regulations, refusing to release players to the tour party.

The FRU’s formal complaint with the French Rugby Federation about Racing-Metro lock Jone Qovu withdrawing from their squad.

They responded by banning Qovu from playing for Racing until December 4, which covers Fiji’s European tour, which sees them play English Premiership side Gloucester on Tuesday before games against Ireland A and Georgia.

Male believes if such players were available, a better game would have been given against England.

Nippy halfback, Nikola Matawalu was given the try of the match.

A win against Gloucester will be a boost for the Flying Fijians ahead of the Ireland A match.
