A managing official for one of the rugby clubs in Macuata participating in the CMFI 7s at Subrail Park has been taken in by police for questioning.

FBC Sports understands the team manager allegedly verbally assaulted game officials and even threatened physically assault.

The man’s team was playing at Subrail Park ground two when the incident happened.

It’s alleged the team manager was not happy with some decisions that were made by the officials.

His team had lost the game.

CMFI Media Officer Malakai Yamaivava says the tournament committee will be meeting this evening to discuss the issue.

Teams and officials have been urged to be within the boundaries of the law as games officials are also protected by law.

Players have also been reminded that the referees’ decision is final.
