Former Fiji Bati and Queensland forward, Petero Civoniceva will put his body to the test when the first of three State of Origin rugby league matches gets underway on Wednesday night.

Civoniceva, who plays his 31st Origin match says he and his maroons pack will handle New South Wales attempts to work them over.

Civoniceva teams up with the likes of Matt Scott, Dave Taylor, Ben Hannant, and Sam Thaiday and he says they know what coming.

The first Origin clash between Queensland and NSW kicks off at 10pm (Fiji time) on Wednesday in Melbourne, Australia.
