Unavailability of running tracks may cause the primary schools annual athletics meet to be held regionally.

Athletics Fiji’s Albert Miller says this was something that was suggested some time ago.

Miller says with the National Stadium under renovation there is no available grounds to host a big athletics event.

“From my understanding it will be regional games where Suva, Nausori and close by teams will convene likewise west teams. This is better for the rural schools whereby more athletes will get a chance to compete.”

Meanwhile, Athletics Fiji is in the process of holdings its awards night.

Miller says the athletics international body has sent two medals which will be given to two outstanding athletes and five certificates.
