Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has stated that there is no doubt there will be cash bonus for the Fiji Airways 7s team if they win the World Cup this weekend.
Speaking to FBC Sports, Bainimarama says there is no discussion as yet between the Fiji Rugby Union and government, however, there are some businesses who have raised funds for the players.
Bainimarama says providing cash bonus for our players will give them the added motivation to win the Melrose Cup for the third time.
“I really don’t know the CEO and the chairman have not informed me of any financial support to the team but I have no doubt that there will be some.”
Bainimarama is also calling on all Fijians living in the US to come and support the national team this weekend.
“We want as many Fijians out there as possible because I know our rugby team wants all our supporters to be supporting them next weekend”
The Prime Minister leaves for San Francisco tomorrow.
