Carpenter laments Fiji Pearls' performance

August 9, 2015 12:53 am

Fiji Pearls coach, Kate Carpenter is lamenting the team’s poor performance in the 60-41 loss to Uganda yesterday in the Netball World Cup in Australia.

The national side stands to drop out of the top 8 world rankings, having also lost to Wales 59-54 in their opening match on Friday.

Carpenter says the team went down to a better side because of a high error rate and failure to execute the basic skills.

“We’re disappointed because that match was very important as was yesterday’s (Friday) against Wales, in terms of making the World Cup top eight. We haven’t been able to do that so disappointed with the two losses.”

The Fiji Pearls will take on Zambia in their final pool match at 5:15pm tomorrow and you can watch it live on FBC TV.
