Capital side out for a win

July 16, 2012 6:55 pm

Suva is retaining their core squad from the Fiji FACT for the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants opening match against Nadi.

The inclusion of Sani Issa and Rewa’s Samuela Kautoga has boosted the capital side’s morale to defeat the Jetsetters this Sunday.

Suva coach, Gurjit Singh says the team faced some problems in preparation last week.

“Because of the weather conditions and most of the players didn’t turn up for training because they intended to leave Suva to join other districts. Two of my players had already applied for release to join Rewa. The transfer window is a short and most of the clubs tried to lure our players to join them, so they were carried away and decided to go to other districts.”

The capital side will face Nadi at Subrail Park this Sunday at 9am.

The live commentary of this match, the Ba-Nadroga and Labasa-Rewa games will air live on Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
