February 12, 2018 4:16 am

The Cakaudrove Rugby Union is working on a competition called the Super Rugby as a selection criteria for its provincial team towards the Vodafone Vanua Cup.

Cakaudrove head coach Rayne Simpson says the competition will bring out the best across the province to represent them in local fifteens rugby meets.

“There is no relation to the name we used, it’s just a term used to our competition for a pathway program and we will split the district into four major franchises and they will compete in the super rugby competition”

Simpson says the province of Cakaudrove is scattered across Vanua Levu and the competition will give a fair chance to everyone to compete.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Rugby Union recently released the draw for the 2018 Vodafone Vanua Championships and the union will host four home games and travel for three away games.
