Cakau wants pride restored to Fiji 7s

Fiji 7s skipper, Setefano Cakau says he wants nothing but pride restored to Fiji rugby and to do that, the team is adamant they can win the 2011/12 IRB World Sevens Series title.

Fiji were last series champions in 2006 and have also won the World Cup 7s in 1997 and 2005 but since then, have fallen short in the IRB Sevens Series circuits in recent years.

_“It’s a big thing for us Fijians to win the series because for the past few years we’ve been known for 7s and we want to win the series this year. We know NZ is tough and physical with Lote and Cama they’ve been doing well with the other boys but I have stressed to the boys that we have managed to beat them twice which keeps on building their morale so that at the end of the series we are up there to win the series title.”
