Buzzetti utilises FACT preparations

April 16, 2012 6:59 pm

Fiji football national coaching director, Carlos Buzzetti is taking advantage of player preparations for the Fiji FACT.

With little time to get the 31-member Fiji squad fit for the Oceania Nations Cup, Buzzetti says these preparations allows him to get more technical with players while in camp.

“We will try to put a team together by first seeing what conditions these players are in. It’s the wrong moment because these players also want to prepare for the FACT. The only good thing we can take from this is that everyone is getting prepared and fit for the tournament which will be an advantage for us. This is why we have selected and experienced senior side, we know what they can do and it’s just a matter if putting them together to play."

Buzzetti admits the Oceania Nations Cup will be difficult as they are pooled with hosts, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

He and his assistant, Imdad Ali will work with the players over the next few days before breaking camp on Friday to allow them to play in the league games.

This weekend’s Fiji Sun/ GP Batteries national football league games will see Suva heading north to play against Labasa at 6pm on Saturday.

Their second match will be at 3.30pm on Sunday against Savusavu.

Navua will be up against Lautoka and Rewa will take on Nadroga.
