June 22, 2015 12:15 am
Australia football international Nathan Burns will be the player to watch when his club, Wellington Phoenix takes on the Vodafone Fiji side in two games starting Saturday.
Burns, who was in great form during the A League this season, is also a Socceroos international and will be a key man during the Fiji Airways Wellington Phoenix Tour matches.
He along with New Zealand international, Michael McGlinchy, Dutchman, Roly Bonevacia, Spaniard, Albert Riera and skipper and All Whites defender Andrew Durante.
These are all seasoned campaigners who should delight the Fijian football faithful in the two matches.
The Wellington Phoenix squad includes 14 contracted players, but excludes Roy Krishna who will play for the Fijian national team.
The first game is on Saturday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva at 5.30pm, before which the Phoenix Premier side plays the national Under-23 team at 2.30pm.
The return matches will be played on Tuesday week at Govind Park in Ba.
You can catch the live commentary of the Phoenix and Fiji match on Radio Fiji 2 with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
