Build-up matches for Under-17 side

The Fiji Under-17 national side will play build up matches in New Zealand ahead of the Oceania playoffs in Tahiti in February next year.

Fiji Football Association National Team Director, Tarunesh Reddy says the final squad will be named in early January with the team leaving for New Zealand on the 15th.

In New Zealand, the team will play four build-up matches which includes a game each against the Papua New Guinea Under-17s and the Auckland City Under-17 side.

The team departs for Tahiti on the 1st of February where more matches are being planned.

The tournament starts on the 11th of February.

The side has been in camp since February and the Fiji FA has high hopes of a good outing at this tournament.

The two finalist of the tournament qualifies for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be played in India in October next year.
