Build up for ONOC General Assembly continues

The Pacific Games organizing committee will entering into its final stages of work in the next few weeks, before it’s all systems go for the regional event in Papua New Guinea in July.

Pacific Games chief executive, Peter Stewart, is in Fiji at the moment briefing all National Olympic Committees during the pre-ONOC General Assembly meetings in Suva.

Stewart says its exciting times ahead for everyone and the games will be one of the best ever.

“We are almost there in terms of delivery. It’s fantastic and its very exciting to be in Port Moresby at the moment and it’s even more exciting to be in the games offices at the games organizing committee office. All our staff are putting together the final plans. Everyone talks about the venue and how they are going but they are almost complete. What we are far more interested in is catering, transport, accommodation for all athletes so it will be prefect and that is close to completion now and we look forward to everyone coming.”

The Pacific Games will be held from July 4-18.
